On a Saturday afternoon BLACKY was simply left in one of our emergency cages outside the shelter, probably by his previous owner who after locking him in simply left without a word even though two of our volunteers were still at the shelter, only not near to the emergency cages. BLACKY, naturally, has no microchip.
He was nothing but skin and bone and suffered from a skin condition. He had such a huge appetite that he was eating like a horse, but we were giving him good quality food just bit by bit. By now he has put on some weight and recovered from his skin condition. He walks nicely on the lead and is very friendly with people, moreover, he adores them and puts his two feet on your shoulders to express his huge adoration for everyone. He's a little bit active and doesn't cope well with kennel-life.
He's grateful for every kind word. It's obvious that he wasn't exactly showered with love at his previous home.
He's compatible with other dogs. 05.05.2020
He's looking for a home where he will be able to satisfy his huge need for exercise and where he can move in for his whole life now.
His heartworm test result on 6th May 2020 came back negative.
During our impromptu cat test (that is conducted in a small room full of cats) he did not show any interest in the felines. However, because both parties were experiencing a new situation it is not fully guaranteed that he will be completely cat-friendly in other situations as well. 15.05.2020
He's relocated to Germany. 05.06.2020
