Somebody probably wanted to get rid of their dog by dumping her by the roadside far away from any type of housing..
The dog wouldn’t leave the spot where her owner had left her, waited for him/her to return. In the end the saviour wasn’t the „owner” but an animal lover who was afraid she would be overrun, so she was transported by car to a place of safety, which was the animal lover’s own home.
DIA repaid abundantly for this good deed and got on well with the other dogs at the house, but unfortunately it wasn’t possible for her to stay there, so she came to the shelter.
She was quite shy at the beginning, especially when we put the lead on her as she didn’t really know what it was like to walk restrained before. She’s not totally accepted the lead yet, so it will take some time for her to get used to it.
Her future owner needs a lot of patience with this particular issue. She adores people and she often makes it known with her extreme friendliness. Because of this we do not recommend her to a home with children and the elderly.
