NOT AN ANIMAL SHELTER.......!!!

.... But a terrible place for lost or abandoned dogs.

Until 2008 in the present animal shelter dogs were not looked after, and euthanasia was also used to put down animals that are in distress due to age or illness.

From April, 2008 our society, the BSPA, has run the animal shelter, and we are doing our best to meet our pets' requirements. Besides taking care of our dogs, the dog waste disposal and bringing the stray dogs into the shelter are our chores.

The local government finances the animal shelter, but the monthly fix amount is hardly enough to cover our monthly operating budget, so we do not have money on the dogs and cats. Therefore we are entirely dependent on contributions so that we can feed our pets and give them the necessary medical treatment.

Unfortunately we have to spend three or four times more on our pets' medical treatment than the budget, so we cannot spend any money on food, equipment or necessary repairs. The dogs are given leftover from the public institutions, the high quality canned food or dry food is given to the ill dogs and the puppies.

We do not euthanize dogs anymore! Therefore our shelter is getting more and more crowded. We are situated in the least developed part of the country and lots of abandoned, old, ill, and unwanted dogs and cats get into the shelter.

70-90 dogs are abandoned monthly and there are fewer and fewer adoptive families.

We do not have a proper place for cats, however, we are expected to help cats as well. We are about to help them, but unfortunately we cannot help every cat and dog.

Most of our dogs have some kind of illness as people are not willing to spend money on their pets' health, and very often when their pet gets ill, they abandon it. Therefore most of our pets have some kind of illness and they need an urgent medical treatment. On the one hand it costs a lot of money and on the other hand we cannot put up properly the ill dogs and the puppies, due to lack of money.

There are lots of cruelties to animals, but unfortunately the officials do not take any steps to stop it.

We fight against the unconcern and cruelty of people.

We do not watch Animal Planet, because it would be too painful for us, as our pets are also cute, clever and faithful little animals and they would also deserve a more beautiful life.

There is so little happiness and joy in their lives.

We want to change it therefore we need every goodwilled people's help.
