BARACK and Kókusz were confiscated together and as a result, came into our care.
He was totally unapproachable for months. He was scared and he made it known to us by loud barking and growling. He was hiding in the darkest corner of the dog pen or worse, in the deepest crevice of the dog kennel. He did accept the food offered, but he would only touch it when no human was present. It took us ages to try and make him start to trust us. He was trying to snap at us whenever we showed him the lead.
After an eternity of time we managed to coax him out of his safe place, the dog kennel, and at last he started to explore the outside world. The first walks were rather half-hearted, but he began to enjoy soaking up the sun, sniffing in the grass and the relative freedom the walks offered.
By now these walks have turned into the highlight of the day for him. He accepts the company of people now, although doesn't require stroking. He's a little bit of a keeping- himself-to-himself mister. Probably a little bit hard of hearing too.
