MADISON a ma már szállóigévé vált vidéki kutyatartási „kultúra” egyik áldozata.

A történet még 2020. év végén kezdődött, amikor 3 kölyökkutya került gondozásunkba egy tanyáról, akiket a piacon terveztek eladni. A gazda elmondása alapján mindenképp csak „jó helyre” adták volna őket mert ők „szeretik a kutyákat” …

2021.04.22-én ismét erre a tanyára vezetett az utunk. Összesen 11 (ivaros!) kutyát számoltunk a tanyán, ahol kerítés természetesen nem volt, így néhányuk láncon tengette életét, néhányuknak pedig gyakorlatilag az utca volt az otthonuk. 3 kutya éppen „valahol az úton szaladt” így akkor „csak” 8-at tudtunk gondozásunkba venni. Ők Penny, Preston, Lynette, Presley, Pether, Parker, Phyro és Page. A maradék három kutyus, Madge, MADISON és Matty, befogása nagyobb szervezést igényelt, így ők néhány héttel később kerültek gondozásunkba.

MADISON nagyon haragudott a világra, amikor gondozásunkba került. Napokig annyira rettegett, hogy a kennel leghátsó kis sarkából ugatta az embert, ha pedig bementünk hozzá és meg akartuk simogatni, bizony a fogacskáit is csattogtatta. Vajon mit kellett átélnie ennek a kedves kutyusnak ahhoz, hogy így féljen az emberi érintéstől?

Azóta ő is megbarátkozott velünk, sőt, farok-csóválva rohangál fel-alá, játszik, ugrándozik, ha kiengedjük a kennelből és végre együtt lehet két kis barátjával. Idegenekkel első találkozáskor még picit tartózkodó lehet, de akit már megismert, azt határtalan örömmel üdvözli, táncol, csóvál neki és alig várja, hogy odabújhasson hozzá.

Más kutyákkal barátságos. Nagyon jó lenne számára egy vidám másik kutyus társasága, akivel kiélhetné játékos, bohóckodó természetét. A macskateszt során ( ami egy cicákkal teli, apró szobában zajlik), azt tapasztaltuk, hogy nem volt érdeklődő a macskák iránt. Mivel mindkét fél megilletődött állapotban volt, így nem feltétlen garantált, hogy máskor, más környezetben teljesen cicabarát lesz.

MADISON is one of the victims of the so-called „pet culture” so typical of the Hungarian countryside.

The story goes back to the end of the year 2020 when 3 puppies came into our care from a countryside farm. The puppies were about to be sold at the local market. According to the owner, the puppies would be definitely given only to „good homes” because, of course, they „love dogs”…

As it happens, on 22nd April 2021 we drove that way again, to the very same farm  and counted altogether 11 (uncastrated!) dogs on the property. There was no fence around the property, therefore, some of the dogs were chained, some of them virtually lived in the street. Out of them 3 were just „running somewhere on the road” at the time, so we were able to bring „only” 8 dogs away . The 8 dogs are: Penny, Preston, Lynette, Presley, Pether, Parker, Phyro and Page. The catching of the other 3 dogs, Madge, MADISON and Matty, required some more organising, so they only came into our care a few weeks later.

MADISON was very angry with the world when he came into our care. He was so scared during the first few days that whenever we entered his kennel he kept barking at us from the furthest corner of his kennel and when we tried to stroke him his teeth were snapping like scissors. We wonder what this lovely little dog must have gone through to be so afraid of the touch of the hand?

Since then he has also made friends with us, moreover, he runs up and down the yard with wagging his tail like crazy, playing and skipping when we let him out of his kennel and he can finally be reunited with his two friends. He might be a bit reserved when meeting strangers for the first time, but once he knows you he will welcome you with boundless joy, with dancing, tail-wagging and he can hardly wait to be able to cuddle up with you.

He's friendly with other dogs. It would be great if he could find a home where another happy dog lives so that he could gratify his passion for fun and games. During our impromptu cat test (that is conducted in a small room full of cats) he did not show any interest in the felines. However, because both parties were experiencing a new situation it is not fully guaranteed that he will be completely cat-friendly in other situations as well.
