We received a cry for help and couldn’t say no. The 6-year-old FELICIDAD and the 10-year-old Felipe had been living on their own because their owner had moved abroad and couldn’t look after them anymore.
She came into our care with 2 huge holes (fistulas) in her side, both oozing pus. She had life-saving surgery, however, the impact of this was so huge that she needed to be on a drip for a week after that. Luckily, she has survived.
FELICIDAD is infinitely kind
friendly and calm
cuddly, affectionate and beholds people with incredible love
very, very needy of people
she also has a very strong bond with Felipe
In September 2023 we noticed the same 2 huge holes (fistulas) oozing pus again. It means that the foreign body inside her is still there, only it cannot be seen by the X-ray. The veterinary doctor advised us not to put FELICIDAD through one more drastic surgery as she would probably die of it as she was basically skinned at the first surgery too. So we are waiting and hoping the foreign body would eventually protrude and then it could be easily removed. In the meantime she is being treated with antibiotics from time to time.
She's been adopted. 22.09.2023 (TL A)
